By Belize Live News Staff: Police came knocking with a search warrant, and an Orange Walk man ended up charged.
Officers from the Trial Farm Sub Station and the San Roman Joint Patrol Team showed up at a home on Rio Grande Street, Orange Walk Town, around 11:00am Wednesday.
Inside, 35 year old electrician Hubert Edgar August was sitting on the couch. Police say his right pocket held six little bags of suspected cannabis, 16.1 grams in all.
The house itself came up clean. The fence line did not.
Under a cement block outside the fence, officers found 12.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Up in the trees, about a foot above the fence, a tied yellow bag held nine more packets of suspected cannabis weighing 46.2 grams.
The drugs outside the fence were logged as found property.
August was charged with possession of controlled drugs for what was in his pocket. He stayed silent when cautioned.
