By Belize Live News Staff: A low-pressure area in the central Caribbean Sea is showing signs of organization, and forecasters say it could develop into a tropical storm later today. The system, designated AL98, is producing winds near 45 miles per hour and has begun forming a more defined circulation center. The U.S. Air Force Hurricane Hunters are expected to conduct an investigation to determine whether the disturbance has strengthened into a named storm. While the system poses no immediate threat to Belize, the National Meteorological Service (NMS) continues to closely monitor its progress. Residents are urged to stay informed as the system drifts slowly westward. Meanwhile, local weather conditions in Belize will remain partly cloudy to cloudy, with showers and isolated thunderstorms, particularly in southern and coastal areas tonight.
