Inland Belize to sizzle with 100°F heat as mostly dry weather persists

By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect another hot and mostly dry day, as fair weather continues to dominate the national forecast. The Meteorological Service is warning that inland temperatures could reach a blistering 100°F, triggering a heat alert for much of the country.

Today’s weather will be mostly sunny with just a small chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms, especially near the Maya Mountains this afternoon. Tonight will be partly cloudy, continuing the stretch of dry, warm conditions.

With inland areas heating up significantly, residents are urged to avoid outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours and ensure they stay hydrated. Vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and outdoor workers are especially at risk for heat exhaustion.

Coastal temperatures are expected to reach 91°F, with a nighttime low of 82°F. Over the hills, temperatures will max out at 84°F. Winds along the coast will blow from the east at 5-15 knots, keeping seas choppy but navigable for most marine activities.

Looking into Sunday and Sunday night, fair weather is forecast to continue. However, isolated showers or thunderstorms are still possible in southern Belize.

Today’s high tide was at 1:47 AM with another expected at 12:48 PM. Low tides occurred at 6:30 AM and will return at 8:31 PM. The moon will rise at 9:45 AM and set by 11:02 PM.
