Woman injured after refusing common-law husband’s embrace in August Pine Ridge

By Belize Live News Staff: Authorities are investigating a case of domestic violence reported in August Pine Ridge Village, Orange Walk District.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred on Saturday, April 18, 2026, when a woman was allegedly assaulted by her common-law partner at their home. The altercation reportedly took place in the presence of family members, including children.

The woman told police that the suspect arrived home intoxicated and became violent after she refused his advances. She alleges that he struck her several times before fleeing the scene when another family member intervened.

A medico-legal examination later confirmed that she sustained injuries classified as harm.

Police are currently seeking the suspect in connection with the incident as investigations remain ongoing.
