San Jose man detained after allegedly dragging partner by her hair

By Belize Live News Staff: Authorities are looking into a reported case of domestic violence following an incident in San Jose Village, Orange Walk District.

Reports indicate that the altercation occurred on Sunday morning, April 19, 2026, when a dispute between a couple escalated into physical confrontation. The woman told police that her partner became disorderly during an argument about finances.

She alleges that he assaulted her by pulling her by the hair and dragging her outside. During the struggle, she defended herself before managing to escape and seek help.

Police were contacted, and the suspect has since been detained as investigations continue into the incident.

Authorities remind the public to report cases of domestic violence and seek assistance when needed.
