By Belize Live News Staff: Belize City police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 24-year-old Dimitri Deandre Usher last week on Sunday night. The incident occurred at Usher’s residence at the corner of Cemetery Road and Wood Street, with the assailant reportedly opening fire from inside the adjacent Constitution Park.
Commissioner of Police Chester Williams has revealed that investigators believe Usher’s death may be linked to a love triangle involving a woman and another gang affiliate.
“We’re gathering information that suggests the deceased had an affair with a young lady who was also involved with another gang member. It appears this may have triggered the attack,” stated Commissioner Williams.
No arrests have been made at this time, but police are pursuing leads on individuals of interest.
Adding a heartbreaking layer to this tragedy, Usher’s family shared that his girlfriend is currently eight months pregnant.
The investigation into Usher’s murder continues as authorities work to bring those responsible to justice.
