Belize to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms today

By Belize Live News Staff: Residents across Belize can expect a mix of cloudy skies and scattered showers today as relatively moist and unstable conditions persist over the region. The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued its latest forecast, highlighting the potential for thunderstorms and periods of rain, particularly in the southern districts.

This morning may see cloudy skies with a few showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the south. Inland areas may also experience some activity this afternoon. Tonight, the activity is expected to increase over the south, bringing periods of rain.

Marine conditions will see winds from the east-northeast at 5-15 knots, with slight to light chop and waves reaching 1-4 feet.

Temperatures will vary across the country:

Coast: Highs of 87°F (31°C) and lows of 83°F (28°C).

Inland: Highs of 93°F (34°C) and lows of 72°F (22°C).

Hills: Highs of 81°F (27°C) and lows of 68°F (20°C).

Looking ahead to Saturday, the forecast indicates mostly cloudy skies with showers, thunderstorms, and periods of rain occurring across the country. Central and northern areas may see more activity. This activity is expected to gradually decrease and become isolated, but may redevelop over the south on Saturday night.

The good news is that no tropical cyclone formation is expected in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico over the next 48 hours.

Residents are advised to stay tuned to weather updates and take necessary precautions as showers and thunderstorms are expected. The forecast was issued by Crystal Rosalez at the National Meteorological Service of Belize.
