Little to no rainfall forecast for New Year’s Day

Warm and mostly sunny day ahead, with showers favouring the south

Fair and mostly dry conditions are prevailing across the country as the new year begins.

For today and tonight, skies will be variably cloudy with little or no rainfall expected. Weather conditions remain stable, allowing for generally pleasant conditions nationwide.

Marine conditions will be moderate to choppy, with east to northeast winds blowing at five to fifteen knots. Wave heights will range from three to six feet, making conditions manageable for marine activities, though small craft operators are encouraged to remain alert.

Temperatures along the coast will reach highs near eighty-one degrees Fahrenheit, with overnight lows around sixty-eight. Inland areas will be warmer during the day, peaking near eighty-four degrees, while nighttime temperatures will dip to about sixty-two. In the hills, cooler conditions will continue, with highs near seventy degrees and lows around fifty-eight.

Looking ahead to Friday and Friday night, partly cloudy skies are expected with little or no rainfall. However, a medium chance of isolated showers or light rain may develop over some southern coastal areas during Friday morning.
