By Belize Live News Staff: A quiet Saturday afternoon in Kings Park, Belize City, turned into a scene of tragedy when Keira Gentle, 26, was reportedly shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend Harrison Arnold, 27, who then took his own life.
The incident occurred just after noon on Saturday, when residents reported hearing multiple gunshots. When police arrived, both Gentle and Arnold were found dead inside the home.
Investigators say Arnold, a licensed firearm holder, used his 9mm pistol in the shooting. ASP Stacy Smith confirmed that the weapon was recovered from the scene and that both bodies bore gunshot wounds.
Police say Gentle and Arnold had previously been in a relationship but had recently separated. ASP Smith added that no previous reports of domestic violence had been made involving the couple.
Neighbors described the incident as shocking and deeply saddening. “You never expect something like this to happen so close to home,” said one resident.
The home remains sealed off as the investigation continues. Meanwhile, family members are left to mourn the loss of a young woman remembered for her energetic spirit and an ex-partner whose actions ended two lives and shattered many more.
