By Belize Live News Staff: Police have formally charged a Belize City taxi operator in connection with Sunday’s fatal shooting at the Old Belize Parking Lot.
Joseph Gabourel Vaccaro, a 30-year-old taxi driver, was formally charged for the murder of Gaston Barrow. The incident, which police have categorized as a gang-related murder, occurred over the weekend inside the popular parking facility. Barrow was reportedly shot and killed during the confrontation.
Vaccaro is now remanded pending his next court appearance. This charge marks another serious crime added to the weekend’s events, as investigators work to quell the recent surge in violence.
