By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect a mix of weather conditions today as moist and slightly unstable air continues to influence the forecast. Sunny skies with periods of cloudiness are expected through the day, but lingering morning showers and isolated thunderstorms could affect areas along the coast and in the south.
As Sunday moves forward, conditions are expected to improve with shower activity becoming isolated across the country. The National Meteorological Service advises that while the day will generally be pleasant, some early rainfall and gusty winds could still impact certain regions.
At sea, moderate east-northeast winds at 5 to 15 knots are forecast, and seas remain choppy with wave heights ranging from 3 to 5 feet. Boaters and fishermen are advised to stay updated on short-term marine conditions.
Daytime highs will climb to 94°F inland, creating hot conditions, while coastal regions will top off at 88°F, and higher elevations will feel cooler at 80°F.
No new tropical cyclone activity is expected over the Atlantic Basin within the next 48 hours, giving some relief to regional monitoring teams as we continue through the hurricane season.
The forecast for Monday calls for cloudy spells with a few early morning showers or isolated thunderstorms, especially in the north and center of the country, before tapering off in the afternoon.
