By Belize Live News Staff: A relatively moist easterly airflow is dominating Belize’s weather pattern today, bringing with it cloudy skies, sunny breaks, and a few outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms, particularly along coastal and southern areas.
The National Meteorological Service says conditions will improve slightly tonight, with skies becoming partly cloudy and shower activity expected to be isolated, except for a few additional showers over the south.
At sea, mariners are advised that easterly winds are blowing at 10 to 20 knots, resulting in choppy conditions and waves ranging between 3 to 5 feet. Those heading out should remain cautious in the event of gusty winds or brief heavy showers.
Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 92 degrees inland, and 80 degrees in the hills. Overnight lows will drop to around 82 degrees on the coast, 74 degrees inland, and 68 degrees in the hills.
The National Hurricane Center reports that no tropical cyclone formation is expected over the North Atlantic Basin in the next 48 hours, offering a calm outlook in an otherwise active hurricane season.
Looking ahead, Sunday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and generally isolated showers, with the possibility of a few early morning showers or isolated thunderstorms developing along the coast.
