By Belize Live News Staff: Some weekends the weather cooperates. This one, it collaborates. Belize’s Saturday arrives all sunshine and light breeze, the seas at their calmest setting, the tropics silent, and Sunday already booked for the same.
The National Meteorological Service reports mainly fair conditions holding across the country, sunny with a few cloudy spells today, clear to partly cloudy tonight. The shower map stays nearly bare, isolated at most, with the Toledo District carrying a medium chance of a few more after dark, the deep south’s familiar night shift while the rest of the country sleeps dry.
The heat brings its full August energy. Inland communities bake at 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius) before easing to 73 (23 Celsius) overnight. The coast tops out at 89 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) with a warm low of 82 (28 Celsius), while the hills hold the comfortable ground at 83 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius), cooling to a fresh 67 (19 Celsius). Hydration and shade remain the weekend’s only obligations.
The sea extends its open invitation, easterly winds of 5 to 15 knots, a light chop, and waves of just 2 to 4 feet, the kind of water that fills the cayes boats, the fishing spots, and every beach from Consejo to Punta Gorda.
The tropics keep their August silence, with no cyclone formation expected anywhere in the region over the next 48 hours, and deep in the season, every quiet day is a small gift Belize gladly accepts.
Sunday, says the Met Service, runs the repeat: similar conditions prevailing, sunshine and gentle seas carrying the weekend home.
So take the swim, fire the grill, make the cayes run. The weekend asked for nothing and delivered everything.
