By Belize Live News Staff: After days of heavy rainfall, flooding concerns, and stormy conditions in several parts of the country, Belize is finally experiencing a welcome stretch of calmer weather.
The latest forecast from the National Meteorological Service shows warm and mostly dry conditions prevailing across the country, creating ideal conditions for outdoor activities, tourism, farming operations, and weekend travel.
Sunday afternoon is expected to remain sunny with only a few cloudy spells, while shower activity will be limited to isolated occurrences. The only area likely to see increased rainfall tonight is southern Belize, where a few showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop.
The improved weather comes as good news for communities that were impacted by recent flooding and road closures. Several highways and low-lying areas experienced high water levels over the past week, disrupting travel and prompting weather advisories.
With temperatures climbing to 94 degrees Fahrenheit inland and 89 degrees along the coast, Belizeans can expect a hot but generally pleasant afternoon. Coastal breezes should help provide some relief from the heat, especially for those spending time near the sea.
The outlook remains encouraging heading into the new week. Forecasters are predicting continued fair and warm conditions through Monday and into Tuesday, with no significant weather systems threatening the country.
Perhaps most importantly, there are currently no tropical cyclones expected to develop anywhere near Belize during the next 48 hours, offering additional reassurance as the country moves deeper into the 2026 hurricane season.
For many Belizeans, the improving forecast provides an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, catch up on work delayed by rain, and take advantage of a rare period of stable weather after several unsettled weeks.
