By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Dangriga are continuing investigations into a traffic accident in Pomona Village that resulted in injuries to a motorcyclist and a nine-year-old child.
According to police, the accident occurred along the Hummingbird Highway near the Pomona New Site cemetery area when a motorcycle collided with a scooter traveling in the same direction. The motorcyclist sustained abrasions, while the child riding on the scooter suffered injuries to the face and body.
Police reported that the collision happened as the motorcyclist attempted to overtake the scooter while it was slowing down and moving toward the side of the road.
Statements have been recorded from the scooter driver, while police are awaiting a statement from the motorcyclist. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
