Leon Lamb convicted of rape three years after attack

By Belize Live News Staff: A 31-year-old man has been convicted of rape three years after the incident. Leon Lamb was found guilty of rape, aggravated burglary, and aggravated assault after posing as a police officer to gain entry into the home of his victim.

The verdict followed an eight-month trial that began in February of this year. The victim testified that in September 2022 Lamb pointed a gun at her, attacked her, and forced her into a bedroom where he sexually assaulted her. She told the court that he slapped her when she menstruated and then fled.

Lamb claimed that he did not know or meet his victim until March 2025 when the trial began, but Justice Nigel Pilgrim ruled that the prosecution proved the offense of rape beyond a reasonable doubt. His sentencing has been deferred to December 5.
