108 evacuated as flood waters rise in Toledo; residents now back home

By Belize Live News Staff: Minister of the Public Service, Governance and Disaster Risk Management, Henry Charles Usher, informed Cabinet of the recent flooding situation in the Toledo District.

According to the report, 108 persons were moved into shelters due to the flooding. Minister Usher noted that the waters in the south have since subsided, allowing those who were in shelters to return to their homes.

He added that the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) continues to closely monitor water levels in the area and is prepared to respond should there be any renewed threat of flooding.
