By Belize Live News Staff: Church Senator Louis M. Wade Jr. has publicly expressed concern over the recent imprisonment of young entrepreneur Andrew Munnings on a tax-related matter.
In a social media post, Senator Wade said, “We failed Andrew Munnings. I am saddened that a young vibrant entrepreneur would have to spend time in prison for tax evasion.”
He added that Munnings had done his best to comply with legal requirements, even noting that one of Belize’s respected auditors reportedly declared that Munnings owed no taxes. Wade emphasized that this story is far from finished and suggested that questions remain about the handling of the case.
The Senator’s comments add to the growing public debate over fairness in Belize’s justice and tax systems, with many Belizeans calling for consistency, proportionality, and transparency in how cases are handled.
