By Belize Live News Staff: Belize has welcomed a new addition to its cruise tourism sector as the Margaritaville at Sea Islander made its inaugural call to the country today at the Fort George Tourism Village (FSTV).
To commemorate the occasion, a special plaque exchange ceremony was held with representatives from the Belize Tourism Board, Belize Port Authority, Caribbean Shipping Agencies, Fort George Tourism Village, the Ministry of Immigration, Belize Customs & Excise, and the Ministry of Health & Wellness.
The Islander is scheduled to call on Belize eight times between August and November 2025. Officials say the arrival of this new cruise line will strengthen Belize’s cruise offerings while providing more opportunities for visitors to experience the nation’s vibrant culture, cuisine, and adventure.
Tourism stakeholders expressed optimism that this new partnership will further enhance Belize’s reputation as a leading regional destination, while also creating benefits for local businesses and communities that depend on the tourism industry.
