By Belize Live News Staff: A wave of heat continues to grip Belize as Monday’s forecast brings soaring inland temperatures, dry skies, and heightened health risks. The National Meteorological Service has issued a heat alert, warning that inland areas will reach up to 97 degrees Fahrenheit, with minimal cloud cover and virtually no rain expected throughout the day.
The general weather pattern remains stable with warm, dry air dominating the country. Daytime conditions will be mostly sunny with occasional cloud patches, while tonight is expected to remain partly cloudy and warm. Although winds from the east will help keep coastal areas somewhat ventilated, the breeze will do little to ease inland heat, which has triggered advisories for hydration and heat safety.
Belizeans are advised to reduce strenuous activity during peak daytime hours and to drink plenty of water as temperatures near triple digits inland. Meanwhile, coastal residents can expect highs around 90 degrees, while the hills will see a more moderate but still hot 85 degrees.
The outlook for Tuesday offers no change—similar heat, dry skies, and warm nights are expected to continue. With the summer season heating up quickly, officials are urging citizens to remain alert and prioritize personal safety during this stretch of intense heat.
