Student injured with broken leg after fight in market area

By Belize Live News Staff: Reports indicate that a student was seriously injured following a fight that occurred on April 22, 2026, in the market area where buses are usually parked.

Investigations revealed that three male students, who are brothers from one school, were involved in an altercation with another student from a different institution.

During the incident, the injured student sustained a broken tibia. A medical doctor later classified the injury as wounding.

The matter was brought before Community Oriented Policing officers, where both families met and discussed the incident.

The parent of the injured student declined court action but requested assistance for medical expenses and mobility support. The other party agreed, and apologies were made.

Police indicated that follow-ups will be conducted, and the matter has been resolved peacefully.
