By Belize Live News Staff: Belize’s Coconut Sector Task Force is forging ahead with an ambitious plan to transform the country’s coconut industry into a model of sustainability and innovation. Meeting in Belmopan under the OCOP framework, stakeholders outlined a three-year roadmap and investment prospectus designed to tackle productivity gaps and increase value-added opportunities.
With robust support from the FAO and local institutions like BELTRAIDE and CARDI, the strategy emphasizes not only economic growth but also environmental responsibility. The task force will launch training programs in business development and modern farming techniques to build resilience and capacity across all levels of the industry.
Belize’s coconut sector is now firmly on a path toward becoming a regional leader in sustainable agriculture.
