Belize Weather: More rain expected as gusty winds continue

Moist and unstable conditions continue; showers expected across Belize today

By Belize Live News Staff: A persistent northwesterly flow continues to bring unseasonably cool temperatures and wet weather to Belize, with coastal regions, including Belize City, bearing the brunt of the conditions. The National Meteorological Service forecasts a day of cloudy skies, scattered showers, and periods of light rain, particularly affecting coastal areas this morning and continuing into the night.

While inland areas may see some respite from the rain this morning, showers are expected to develop over these regions later this afternoon.

The cool temperatures are notable, with highs in Belize City struggling to reach 72°F (22°C) and lows dipping to a chilly 65°F (18°C). Residents are bundling up and seeking shelter from the wind and rain.

The rough seas, with waves reaching up to 7 feet, have prompted a small craft caution, urging mariners to exercise extreme caution.

The unsettled weather is expected to continue into Friday night with further showers and periods of rain forecast across the country. The National Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates.
