By Belize Live News Staff: Belize has set a new benchmark for tourism success, recording an unprecedented 562,405 overnight tourist arrivals in 2024. The figure represents a 21% increase over 2023 and an 11.8% rise from pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
Preliminary data indicates that 2024 was a year of consistent growth, with March standing out as the peak month, welcoming 69,202 overnight visitors. Eleven out of twelve months recorded higher arrivals compared to 2019, reflecting the resilience of Belize’s tourism industry.
The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) highlighted the collaborative efforts of tourism stakeholders in achieving this milestone. “This success is a testament to the dedication and resilience of our industry, which has consistently worked to position Belize as a must-visit destination,” the BTB stated.
Belize’s focus on sustainable tourism development, cultural preservation, and enhanced visitor experiences has been key to its success. As the country moves into 2025, the BTB aims to build on this momentum by launching new initiatives to attract travelers while safeguarding the nation’s natural and cultural heritage.
With these achievements, Belize continues to solidify its reputation as one of the Caribbean’s leading tourism destinations.
