By Belize Live News Staff: Belize is experiencing mild weather changes today, January 8, 2025, as a weak cold front influences conditions across the country. The Belize Meteorological Service forecasts cloudy skies with sunny intervals during the day and partly cloudy skies tonight. A few showers or periods of rain are expected along central and southern coastal areas during the daytime, gradually diminishing to isolated activity by evening.
Marine conditions are moderately calm, with north-northeast winds blowing at 10-20 knots and wave heights ranging from 4 to 6 feet. While suitable for marine activities, operators of small craft are encouraged to exercise caution due to locally moderate sea conditions.
Temperatures today will reflect the cooler influence of the cold front. Coastal areas will experience highs of 80°F (27°C) and lows of 72°F (22°C). Inland regions will reach 81°F (27°C) during the day and drop to 67°F (19°C) at night. Hilly areas will remain cool, with highs of 70°F (21°C) and lows of 60°F (16°C).
Looking ahead to Thursday, fair weather is expected to prevail, with only isolated showers anticipated, marking the weakening impact of the cold front and a return to more stable conditions.
Tidal changes for today include a high tide at 5:30 AM, a low tide at 10:28 AM, and another high tide at 4:45 PM. Tomorrow morning’s low tide is forecast for 12:33 AM. Sunrise occurred at 6:25 AM, and sunset is scheduled for 5:33 PM. The moon will rise at 12:49 PM today and set at 2:09 AM tomorrow.
