Belizean car dealer arrested with over 23 pounds of cocaine in Police bust

By Belize Live News Staff: A resident of Vista del Mar, Ladyville, in the Belize District has been charged after police discovered over 23 pounds of cocaine in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Hattieville. The suspect, 43-year-old Dominic Frederick Young, a Belizean car dealer, faces charges of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another, specifically 23.35 pounds of cocaine.

Acting on intelligence, police intercepted Young while he was driving a Chevrolet Impala from the Cayo District on Saturday. Officers found 10 parcels of cocaine in the vehicle.

Authorities have yet to determine the origin of the cocaine, though the bust comes amid a surge in drug-related seizures, particularly in the Corozal area. The source of the drugs remains unknown, as investigations continue
