By Belize Live News Staf: The National Meteorological Service (NMS) has forecasted scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing as the day progresses, bringing relief from recent heat. While the morning will continue with clear skies, cloud cover is expected to increase by the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will likely form along the coast during the morning and gradually move inland later in the day, persisting into the evening and overnight, particularly over southern and coastal areas.
Though Belize is not under direct threat, the NMS is closely monitoring Tropical Depressions Twelve and Joyce in the Atlantic, neither of which are projected to impact the country directly. However, a broad area of low pressure over the western and southwestern Caribbean Sea is generating showers and thunderstorms. While the system has a low probability of forming into a tropical depression, favorable conditions could see development by midweek.
Despite the forecasted showers, temperatures will remain warm. Coastal areas will see highs of around 90°F (32°C), inland temperatures could rise to 94°F (34°C), and the hills will offer cooler temperatures around 80°F (27°C). Similar conditions are expected on Tuesday, with partly cloudy skies and possible showers.
Marine conditions are expected to be calm, with easterly winds blowing at 5-15 knots and slight seas with waves between 1-3 feet.
The NMS will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. Belizeans are encouraged to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
