By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect unsettled weather conditions today as relatively moist air continues to influence the region. The day’s forecast predicts partly cloudy skies, with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms, particularly offshore and along coastal areas. As the evening approaches, showers and thunderstorms are likely to spread inland, bringing rain to most parts of the country.
Conditions at sea are expected to be moderately choppy, with winds coming from the west to southwest at speeds of 10 to 20 knots. The sea state will see wave heights between 3 to 6 feet, cautioning mariners to stay alert as moderate disturbances may occur.
Daytime temperatures along the coast are forecasted to peak at 87°F (31°C), dropping to 77°F (25°C) by nightfall. Inland regions will see warmer temperatures, with highs of 93°F (34°C) and cooling down to 72°F (22°C). In the hilly areas, temperatures will be slightly cooler, ranging from 78°F (26°C) during the day to a low of 68°F (20°C) at night.
Tropical Weather Update: Belize remains on alert as Potential Tropical Cyclone (PTC) #9 continues its northwestward movement. As of 6 a.m., PTC #9 was located approximately 150 miles west of Grand Cayman and around 328 miles northeast of Belize City, moving at a speed of 9 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. Authorities continue to monitor its development as it edges closer to Belize’s waters.
Outlook for Wednesday: On Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms will be isolated, with a higher likelihood of rain inland during the afternoon. By nightfall, more widespread rain, including thunderstorms, will affect southern regions, as well as some coastal and offshore areas.
Today’s tidal patterns show a low tide at 9:58 a.m., followed by a high tide at 4:25 p.m., and another low tide at 8:20 p.m. The next high tide is expected tomorrow at 3:01 a.m. Belize will experience sunrise at 5:42 a.m. and sunset at 5:46 p.m., while the moon is set to rise at 12:24 p.m. and set at 11:32 p.m.
