By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect warm and sunny conditions throughout the day, with a few isolated showers or thunderstorms anticipated, mainly affecting the southern regions later tonight, according to the National Meteorological Service (NMS).
The NMS reports that today’s weather will feature mostly clear skies, with occasional cloudy periods. While much of the country will remain dry, the southern areas may experience some isolated thunderstorms overnight, though these will be brief.
Marine conditions are forecasted to stay favorable, with light easterly winds blowing at speeds of 5 to 15 knots. The sea will see a light chop, and wave heights are expected to range between 2 and 4 feet, making conditions ideal for coastal activities. However, some coastal areas could experience brief disturbances later tonight as isolated storms move in.
Daytime temperatures across the country will be hot, reaching up to 95°F (35°C) inland, while coastal regions can expect highs around 91°F (33°C). Cooler temperatures are expected during the night, with lows of 75°F (24°C) inland, 83°F (28°C) along the coast, and 69°F (21°C) in the hilly regions.
Looking ahead, the NMS is monitoring the potential formation of a low-pressure system in the western or northwestern Caribbean Sea, expected to develop over the weekend or early next week. While no tropical cyclone formation is expected within the next 48 hours, residents are advised to stay updated on weather conditions as this system could move northward into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico.
