Morning accident in Santa Elena claims woman’s life, man injured

By Belize Live News Staff: A traffic accident in Santa Elena, Cayo this morning has left a woman dead and a man injured after a motorcycle they were riding collided with a pickup truck. The woman, who was the passenger on the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man, who was driving, suffered injuries and is being treated at the hospital.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, and the identities of those involved have not yet been released. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with debris from the collision scattered across the roadway and concerned bystanders gathered nearby.

First responders quickly arrived at the scene, but despite their efforts, the woman could not be saved. The man, who remains hospitalized, is expected to recover.

Authorities are calling on anyone with information about the accident to assist with the ongoing investigation. More details will be provided as the investigation continues.
