By Belize Live News Staff: Good news for Belizeans tired of the recent wet weather: the country is set to experience a welcome change in the coming days. According to the latest forecast from the National Meteorological Service, the current moist and unstable conditions will give way to drier weather over the next 24 to 48 hours.
While a few showers and thunderstorms may still occur today, they are expected to decrease significantly. By Thursday and Thursday night, the outlook is for mainly fair weather, with only isolated showers or thunderstorms predicted, primarily in the southern part of the country.
This positive shift in the weather pattern comes as Tropical Storm Ernesto continues to churn in the Caribbean Sea. As of 6:00 AM this morning, Ernesto was located about 125 miles northwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Although the storm is not expected to directly impact Belize, it serves as a reminder that the Atlantic hurricane season is still in full swing.
Temperature-wise, coastal areas can expect highs around 88°F (31°C) and lows of 83°F (28°C) today. Inland regions will be slightly warmer, with highs reaching 92°F (33°C) and lows around 74°F (23°C).
Marine conditions will remain favorable, with light chop and easterly winds blowing at 5-15 knots.
Overall, the forecast paints a promising picture for the rest of the week. So, Belizeans, get ready to enjoy some sunshine and drier weather! Just remember to stay informed about the latest forecasts and be prepared for any potential changes in the weather.
