By Belize Live News: The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. in the Martin’s area near Croton Lane, where gunshots rang out, leaving one man wounded. The victim, identified as Jimmy Rojas, was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for urgent medical attention.
Authorities say Rojas is no stranger to police. He had previously been charged in connection with the 2024 murder of Jose Matus, though it is unclear at this time if today’s shooting is related to that case.
Police cordoned off the area shortly after the incident and have launched an investigation. No suspects have been detained as yet, and the motive remains unknown.
Rojas’s current condition is unknown at the time of this report.
