Cayo North aligns with Shyne Barrow’s UDP Camp ahead of elections

By Belize Live News Staff: The Cayo North Committee and standard bearer Omar Figueroa have announced their renewed support for Shyne Barrow’s camp in the United Democratic Party (UDP). This realignment follows a previous move toward Tracy Panton’s group in late 2024.

Barrow shared the news, saying, “Great meeting with the next Area Representative for UDP Cayo North, brother Omar and his Executive Committee to plan victory for the General Elections!” The update reflects ongoing efforts by the UDP to solidify internal alliances ahead of the elections.

Meanwhile, legal disputes persist within the party. Barrow’s legal team has requested an urgent contempt hearing against Panton, who has also filed a suit seeking to restrict Barrow from appointing candidates she believes lack proper endorsement.

With the court proceedings pending, the UDP continues to address issues related to candidate endorsements and party unity.
