By Belize Live News Staff: The Belize Zoo has announced an increase in entrance fees, set to take effect on December 1, 2024. This marks the first overall adjustment in over a decade, driven by increased operational costs and a commitment to conservation. According to a recent survey, visitor insights supported the need for revised fees, which will enable the zoo to continue providing a quality educational and wildlife experience.

Under the new structure, resident adults will pay BZD 10, resident children BZD 2, non-resident adults BZD 40, and non-resident children BZD 10. These updates reflect an 85% rise in costs since 2011, which the zoo has absorbed until now. The fee increase will ensure that the zoo can maintain natural habitats, support wildlife protection efforts, and enhance visitor services.
The Belize Zoo is a key player in Belize’s tourism and conservation landscape, housing over 200 animals native to Belize and playing a pivotal role in educating the public about local wildlife. Zoo officials reaffirmed their commitment to conservation and sustainability, noting that the support of visitors is essential to these efforts. As one of Belize’s top attractions, the zoo invites both residents and tourists to continue their support as they embark on this new chapter.
