Belizean family seeks public assistance for medical expenses after motorcycle accident

By Belize Live News Staff: The Lemus family of Santa Elena Town is urgently seeking public assistance to help cover medical expenses for Luis Lemus, who was severely injured in a motorcycle accident earlier this week.

Lemus was reportedly hit by a Belize Defence Force Support Unit (BATSUB) vehicle on Tuesday while returning home from work. His motorcycle caught fire as a result of the collision, and he was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Due to the severity of his injuries, including a significant eye injury, Lemus has been transferred to Guatemala for specialized medical attention.

The family is appealing for financial support to help with the mounting medical bills. Contributions can be made to Atlantic Bank account number 211829495, or by contacting 624-6557.

The Lemus family is hopeful for the community’s support as Luis continues to receive critical care.
