Police investigate cocaine discovery on Minister’s boat

By Belize Live News Staff: A routine police investigation into suspected drug activity in the Back a Town area of San Pedro led to the discovery of 474 grams of suspected cocaine on a docked boat. The boat was later confirmed to belong to Minister Andre Perez, who oversees the Ministry of Blue Economy and Civil Aviation.

Minister Perez has stated that the boat was undergoing repairs and had been docked for over six months, a claim corroborated by the boatyard owner. Initial findings suggest that the drugs were likely placed on the boat without the Minister’s knowledge.

The police are conducting a full investigation and Minister Perez is cooperating fully.
