NICH adopts Harriot Topsey Park in tribute to Belize heritage champion

By Belize Live News Staff: The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Belmopan City Council to adopt Harriot Topsey Park.

The park is named in honour of Harriot W. Topsey, Belize’s second Belizean Archaeological Commissioner, who passed away in 1995.

NICH says the adoption reflects its continued commitment to community development, environmental stewardship and the creation of greener, more vibrant public spaces.

Working with the Belmopan City Council, NICH says it takes pride in safeguarding the park for the enjoyment of the community today and for generations to come.
