By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Orange Walk are investigating a report of common assault involving a minor and his former stepfather following an incident on Tuesday afternoon.
According to official SITREP reports, the incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on March 24 at a residence situated at the corner of Temash and New River Street in the Black Water area. A 15-year-old student reported to authorities that his ex-stepfather arrived at the home and began banging on the front screen door.
The minor stated that once the door was opened, a verbal confrontation ensued inside the house. The situation reportedly escalated when the man allegedly pushed the teenager on the shoulder and forcefully slammed a bedroom door during the exchange.
The teenager further noted that the individual later entered the home briefly with an unidentified female before both departed. Police have officially recorded a statement from the minor and have launched a formal investigation.
Authorities are currently seeking the 37-year-old Belizean teacher for questioning in relation to this report.
