Belize soldiers in Jamaica say they were left out of hurricane relief

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize Defence Force members undergoing training in Jamaica have expressed disappointment after reportedly not receiving any form of hurricane relief assistance.

Messages shared on WhatsApp show frustration from the soldiers, who are currently at the Caribbean Special Tactics Center. They described it as unfair that they were left out of aid distributions, despite serving the country as part of the BDF’s elite units.

The soldiers emphasized their loyalty to Belize and said they continue to train and serve with dedication, even when they feel forgotten. One of them mentioned understanding the struggles of those impacted by the recent hurricane, having experienced a similar situation in the past.

There has been no official comment from the BDF command, but the concerns highlight an ongoing discussion about how military personnel stationed abroad are treated during times of crisis.
