Mostly sunny skies today, thunderstorms may develop over Maya Mountains

Sunday weather in Belize: Fair skies and warm sunshine expected

By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service is forecasting another day of fair and mostly dry weather across Belize, supported by steady easterly airflow. Most areas will experience sunshine and warm conditions, with isolated showers expected mainly over the south during the morning hours.

By this afternoon or evening, thunderstorms are likely to develop over the Maya Mountains, bringing localized heavy downpours. Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy to clear, with shower activity remaining minimal elsewhere.

For marine interests, conditions remain calm with winds between 5–15 knots from the east to southeast, slight seas, and waves of 1 to 3 feet. Temperatures today are expected to peak at 96°F inland, 90°F along the coast, and 84°F in the hills, dropping to comfortable lows overnight.

Looking forward to Saturday, forecasters say the fair and warm pattern will continue, with isolated showers and a few more showers in southern Belize.

Meanwhile, in the Atlantic, a developing system designated AL91 is under close observation. It is likely to become a tropical depression this weekend as it moves westward across the central tropical Atlantic. At this time, forecasters confirm it poses no immediate threat to Belize.

The public is encouraged to stay updated with official weather advisories as the hurricane season progresses.
