Attorney-at-law Dr. Lynden Jones’ Corozal home shot at

By Belize Live News Staff: Prominent attorney-at-law and medical doctor, Dr. Lynden Jones, has reported yet another attempt on his life after his Corozal residence was targeted by gunfire on Sunday, August 24.

According to Dr. Jones, a single bullet struck the scale of justice symbol displayed at the property, a clear sign that his house had been deliberately targeted. At the time of the shooting, he was inside the home.

Dr. Jones told reporters via WhatsApp that he remains uncertain of the motive behind the attack but confirmed this is not the first threat against his life. “Someone shot my house last night in Corozal,” he wrote.

He added that he had only just returned to the residence the night before after being away for two weeks, suggesting that he may have been watched. The incident reportedly occurred between 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. While he did not hear or see anything, he noticed the bullet hole upon leaving the house later that evening.

Security cameras did not capture the incident. Dr. Jones has filed a report with police in the north and is pursuing legal action.
