By Belize Live News Staff: The Elections and Boundaries Department has announced a new date for the Aguacate Village Council Election in the Toledo District, following the postponement due to severe flooding.
The election, originally scheduled for Sunday, June 29, was deferred after the Aguacate bridge flooded, making access to the polling station unsafe. The new election date is set for Sunday, July 6, 2025, and voting will take place at the R.C. School in Aguacate from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Villagers are reminded of the importance of their participation and are encouraged to come out and vote during the revised time. The Department thanks residents for their understanding and cooperation as efforts continue to ensure a safe and fair electoral process.
