By Belize Live News Staff: A grim discovery in the Unitedville cemetery has left police and residents searching for answers. The decomposing body of a man was found on Wednesday by a 10-year-old boy who was walking through the area and noticed something unusual behind one of the graves.
The body, described as being in an advanced state of decomposition, was reportedly found in a huddled position. Investigators suspect a possible injury to the neck, but due to the condition of the remains, a post-mortem examination will be required to confirm any signs of trauma or cause of death.
As of today, the body remains unidentified and is being treated as a John Doe. No missing person reports have yet been matched to the discovery, and police are urging the public to assist if they have any information.
