Orange Walk police seize suspected crack cocaine on Main Street

By Belize Live News Staff: Orange Walk police say a routine patrol operation led to the arrest of a man for possession of suspected crack cocaine.

Officers were conducting mobile patrol on Main Street when they noticed a man placing an item in his back pocket.

Police stopped and searched the individual and reportedly found two foil packages containing a white substance suspected to be crack cocaine.

The man was taken to the Orange Walk Police Station where the suspected drugs were weighed.

Police reported that the substance weighed 0.6 grams.

The suspect was later identified as Luis Ayuso, a laborer of Petville Village.

He was formally charged with possession of a controlled drug and remains part of the Orange Walk police report for the day.

Police also reported that 17 persons were searched, 75 businesses were checked, and seven traffic violation tickets were issued during operations.
