By Belize Live News Staff: A cold front is crossing Belize today, bringing cloudy skies, cooler temperatures and gusty winds across the country.
According to the 6:00 a.m. forecast issued February 23, cloudy, cool and windy conditions will dominate the day. A few showers and periods of light rain are expected mainly along the coast and over southern districts this morning, with rainfall decreasing this afternoon.
Tonight will remain cold and windy with little or no rain.
Marine conditions are rough, with north winds blowing between 15 to 25 knots and waves reaching 6 to 9 feet.
A Small Craft Caution is in effect due to strong gusty winds and rough seas, especially in northerly swells beyond the reef. Small craft operators are advised to seek safe harbour.
Temperatures will remain cool, with highs of 75°F along the coast and inland, and just 68°F in the hills.
