Insurance

By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Orange Walk have arrested and charged a man after discovering that his motorcycle was not insured.

On Saturday afternoon, officers on mobile patrol in Trial Farm Village stopped a black Lifan motorcycle for checks.

The rider, identified as 24-year-old Manuel Alvarado, produced his driver’s license. However, police say his insurance had expired earlier this year.

After confirming that there was no updated insurance coverage, officers detained Alvarado and escorted him to the Trial Farm Sub-Station.

An Information and Complaint was sworn, and he was formally charged with using a motor vehicle not covered by third-party risk insurance.
