By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans should expect a wet and cloudy start to the weekend, as the Belize Met Service reports that the cold front lingering near the country will continue to generate unstable weather over the next 24 to 48 hours.
Forecasters say showers, isolated thunderstorms, and periods of steady rain will persist today across offshore and coastal areas before spreading across most of the country tonight into Saturday morning.
Saturday and Saturday night are also expected to remain mostly cloudy, with continued outbreaks of rain and thunderstorms—particularly along the coast and offshore areas during the early hours. A gradual decrease in rainfall is forecast later in the day, though wet conditions will still prevail.
Winds will remain from the N-NE, contributing to choppy seas, while waves will range from 3 to 5 feet across local waters.
The Belize Met Service reminds mariners, residents in flood-prone areas, and commuters to remain vigilant and stay informed through official weather updates.
