By Belize Live News Staff: The Belize Met Service is advising the public to prepare for increased rainfall heading into the weekend, as moisture and instability remain over the region. Today’s weather will feature cloudy intervals with showers and isolated thunderstorms, concentrated along the coast and offshore areas this morning and again tonight, before spreading inland by the afternoon.
Forecasters warn that rainfall will increase further on Friday and Friday night, with periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms becoming more frequent over northern districts, coastal regions, and offshore zones. Residents in flood-prone areas should remain alert as moisture continues to build.
Over the sea, conditions remain choppy with NE winds at 5–15 knots and 3–5 foot waves. Daytime temperatures are expected to peak at 83°F on the coast, 86°F inland, and 76°F in the hills.
The hurricane season is nearing its end, and the North Atlantic Basin is expected to remain quiet with no tropical cyclone formation anticipated. Moonrise occurs at 11:49 a.m. with moonset at 11:40 p.m.
The forecast was issued by Shanea Young of the Belize Met Service.
