With Thanksgiving marking the traditional start of the U.S. winter travel season, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) is reporting that Belize’s tourism arrivals for 2025 remain strong and steady, even amid economic and geopolitical uncertainties in the United States, Belize’s largest tourism market.
During a press briefing held on Wednesday, BTB Director Evan Tillett presented an overview of the country’s tourism performance from January to October 2025. According to Tillett, Belize recorded 448,188 overnight visitors for the period, just slightly below 2024’s total of 446,563, a difference of only 1,625 visitors, keeping the industry neck-and-neck with last year’s record numbers.
Tillett emphasized that when evaluating trends over the past decade, Belize’s 2025 performance remains on par with pre-pandemic benchmarks. He described the figures as a promising sign of resilience, especially given global issues such as wars, trade tensions, and shifting U.S. immigration policies, all of which significantly influence international travel patterns.
The BTB says the strong arrival numbers reflect consistent demand for Belize as a preferred winter getaway and signals confidence that the 2025 high season will remain robust.
