By Belize Live News Staff: A Belize City woman was found dead inside her home on Complex Street this morning in what police have confirmed is a murder investigation.
The victim has been identified as Delecia Flowers, a woman in her early 30s. Reports suggest she was brutally beaten before her body was discovered.
Her teenage daughter, who was also injured during the incident, has been transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Police have cordoned off the area as detectives process the crime scene and gather statements from neighbors.
Investigators have not released further details, but the Belize City Police Department says it is treating the matter with urgency as this is the latest in a string of violent crimes affecting the city.
